Volunteers Week Appreciation lunch

Life just wouldn’t be the same without our many amazing volunteers! Year in, year out they add their enthusiasm, hearts and souls into making the Elements retirement community, and communities all over Brisbane, a better place!

The National Volunteers Week celebrations in May have become a tradition at Elements; we are so grateful for their input that it is only right to show them our full appreciation.

For the fifth running, Chiou See provided a volunteers lunch for the wonderful helpers from the Rochedale/Springwood Meals on Wheels team and from the Logan East Community Neighbourhood Association (LECNA). Residents and staff alike got together in the kitchen to exercise their culinary skills and decorated the community centre and tables. The delicious Chinese menu had many of this appreciative and appreciated group queueing up for second helpings, and there was still plenty left over to enjoy over the weekend.

We invited our local State MP to present the volunteers with well-deserved Certificates of Appreciation. These were handed out by the Hon. Mick de Brenni, Member for Springwood and Minister for Housing and Public Works; Minister for Digital Technology and Minister for Sport, while the U3A Ukulele Group provided the entertainment with some of the members Elements residents.
