Our Elements retirement community take every opportunity to involve and assist other local groups and for a number of years, one of these groups has been the students of the hospitality and catering department at Rochedale State High School.
These students often host catering events for various senior groups, their friendly and talented members combine culinary and hospitality skills while gaining valuable experience at the same time. This month our residents we were treated to two mouth-watering occasions – a morning tea and a community lunch.
While the male representatives of our village were very much outnumbered this year, a couple of our bravest blokes came along. After the great time they had, we’re sure this minority group will be a lot bigger next time! Places at this event get booked up fast; having to book ahead for these great dining experiences. It even included a goodie bag to bring back home.
By inviting this entertaining group of Rochedale students to our village, Elements enjoys the best of both worlds; a great training experience for the next generation, and an exceptionally hosted and extremely delicious morning tea and/or lunch for our very appreciative residents.
