Life in our Village

May has been a very busy month for our Elements residents. From birthday celebrations to an International Women’s Day morning tea, there is always something going on in our happy living community.

Craft ‘n Chat

At Craft ‘n Chat, the ladies continued with their mammoth of task knitting hats, jumpers and scarves for the Papua New Guinea Project. Somehow, they also managed to raise more than $500 for a range of charities, including the Queensland Ambulance Committee and the local Logan Working Against Violence Service, with an Easter raffle and other fund raising schemes. In their spare (!) time, the ladies collected toiletries and female hygiene products for Libby Coyer’s alternative schools as well as collected and contributed 300 stars for the Million Stars Installation Against Domestic Violence. Whether you want to produce a creative masterpiece or simply stop by for a chat and a cup of tea, the famous Elements Living Craft ‘n Chat group is happy to welcome all new faces every Tuesday morning.

Village Singers

The name speaks for itself. On the evening of the 2nd and 4thTuesday of every month our Elements Village Singers group meets up in the community centre to practise their extensive repertoire.

The Village Singers have been going strong for nearly four years but don’t like to call themselves a choir. They just enjoy having a good old sing-song and are always happy to welcome additional members to their fun-loving group.

While the Village Singers are very happy to sing Christmas carols at the end of each year, the Elements community has enjoyed some wonderful entertainment from this much-loved group over the years. Every year they produce a popular concert for residents, family and friends based on popular themes such as Movie Melodies and Sentimental Journey. This year, they are very busy preparing a variety show!
