Celebrating Australia, The Elements Way

Our community at Elements Living never shy away from a celebration and an opportunity to come together, fire up the BBQ and clink a stubbie. Australia Day is certainly no exception.

The 26th of January marks the anniversary of the 1788 arrival of the First Fleet of British ships at Port Jackson and throughout many years, has been a national celebration of our great country. On Australia Day, we reflect on our history, its highs, and its lows. We respect the stories of others and we celebrate our nation, its achievements and most of all, its people.

At Elements, Australia Day is an opportunity to celebrate community and cultural diversity.  Australia Day at Elements means togetherness which holds true throughout the village. Although our community consists of an immensely diverse group of residents, we are all extremely proud to be Australian and to live in such a great country. We use this day not to celebrate a marker in history but to share our gratitude for the community we have at Elements. Although each of our residents acknowledge the controversy which surrounds this day, we focus on what’s enormously important, togetherness.

How we Celebrate

In recent years Australia Day at Elements Living is often spent feasting on the quintessential Australian menu; Sausage sizzles, damper, and lamingtons and washed down with an ice-cold beer.

Our residents participate in Australian games such as damper cooking competitions, thong throwing competitions, tunnel ball competitions, and coo-ee competitions. We have even had some of our residents aptly dress their vehicles head to toe in all things Australia and cruise through the village streets!

We expect that this year will be no exception.

We Embrace Cultural Diversity

Elements is home to many cultures and that is exactly how we like it.

We have numerous nationalities within our Elements community and each of our residents embrace the culture, ethnicity, and the background of their neighbours.

Elements Living’s leading lady Chiou See Anderson is originally from Singapore and thus has introduced many values and Chinese customs (including celebrating Chinese New Year) to the village which our residents have embraced. The same can be said for many other residents which a different heritage. As a community we make a point to adopt cultural diversity. At Elements we pride ourselves on inclusivity and believe that we have created an especially safe and welcoming space for our residents.

Our Surroundings

It does not get more Australian than Elements.

Nestled amidst the Daisy Hill Conservation Park, Elements Living residents share their home with plenty of Australian wildlife including Koalas providing the perfect setting to celebrate our great country.

It never ceases to ignite a feeling of happiness when crossing paths with local wallabies on morning walks and sharing conversations with native birds. What a great reminder of the natural beauties which our land is home to.

When you choose to join the Elements Living family, you’re choosing to become a part of a community that celebrates your history, embraces your heritage and welcomes you like family! Why not make the transition in 2021 and celebrate with us!
