Chiou See Anderson, Managing Director
Born in Singapore, Chiou See came to Brisbane to pursue a Business degree in 1988. Over the last 24 years, she acquired significant management experience in industries as diverse as aviation, mining, hospitality, vocation education and property development.
The vision for Elements started in 2003 when Chiou See purchased the site from John Paul College. In the ensuring years, Chiou See successfully obtained her development approval in the Planning and Environment Court and gained an incredible amount of knowledge through her research activities at Bond University.
Using her research knowledge of what factors would most likely influence successful ageing, Chiou See has challenged many design aspects of the built environment and the general community’s attitude towards retirement living. Today, she has positioned Elements as a leader in designing age-friendly communities to enable people to enjoy a high standard of health and wellbeing to live a purposeful and meaningful life.
In 2010, Chiou See won the Urban Development Institute of Australia’s ‘Rising Star’ award for outstanding achievement by a woman in project management – recognising her understanding of the need for innovative design, delivery and management solutions for the retirement sector. Over the last 2 years, she has presented at various Property Council of Australia’s state and national conferences on the retirement living sector.
Chiou See is also currently the Advisor on Ageing and the Vice President for the National Council of Women Queensland.
