At Elements, we are fortunate to have so many enthusiastic and skilled crafts people who have given freely of their tools, time and expertise. Activities range from making timber pens to wood-turning and restoring well-loved furniture. View our Work Shed.
Elements has a community facility that you would be proud to call your own. The 950 sqm building provides for the following:
Elements’ clubhouse, affectionately know as “Club Elements”, is our interim community centre perched atop a hill with magnificent outlooks to Brisbane’s north east, and includes a large salt water pool, manicured grounds, entertaining deck, library, meeting rooms, tai chi space, reading area with fireplace and large kitchen with its very own Teppanyaki hotplate! Residents can drop in anytime during the day and it is often the focal point for residents, guest and staff alike.
Club Elements is home for resident social activities including BBQs, Friday night happy hours, dinner functions, movie nights and general get togethers. The clubouse also hosts a number of special events including Christmas in July, St Patrick day celebrations, open days and community activities like the local Soroptimist society luncheon.
“I have always admired the Japanese people’s ability to incorporate so many meaningful and complex elements into their gardens and still be able to achieve immense beauty and serenity. It is for this reason that Elements decided to bring these the landscape mastersfrom Japan to create and craft an authentic living Zen garden so that we will have a story that unfolds as our village unfolds.”
Elements is the first retirement village to showcase an authentic Japanese designed and constructed Zen garden. Zen, which means meditation, is the focus for this beautiful tranquil setting.
I have helped establish our first Work Shed. I love tinkering and creating and telling stories to the ‘youngins’ and I now have more time to enjoy this passion of mine without even leaving ‘home’ Charles Rice, Elements resident.
Village tours are available during the week from 10am to 4pm. Saturdays and Sundays are by prior arrangements. Or join us at one of our monthly open days for a cuppa and a tour.
